our winter is in summer and no it rains alot

It gets very hot in the summer (August/September-June), and in the "winter" it rains a lot.

My comment: When I was little there was a girl who's family were missionaries in Africa. She was taking questions in Sunday School class and one kid asked if she had a pet giraffe. 
My questions: did you have to learn another language? And is it easy to make friends where you live?
