First topic message reminder :

((I'll begin))

It was an ordinary day in the Kingdom of Bryan. Then again, it was an ordinary day in the secret fort the Gileadites were in. Marvin was sitting in front of a table, eating.

((Note: throughout the RPG you will have missions to do))

"They are not solders of the river, they are Verk's solders." Gorin paused for a second. "They want me dead."

Nina was confused. She asked Gorin, "Why do they want you dead? Did you do something to offend this Verk?"

"Of course I don't want you to hold them prisoner!!!" Ariona exclaimed. "But.... maybe I can catch up to you guys later. If you'll take Tria? I think I'll see if I can maybe catch an hour or so of sleep. It's dark enough in here," she said, grinning at Xanatos. "And," she said, lowering her voice so that the girl couldn't hear her, "I'll be able to move much faster on my own than with her."

Xanatos smiled and gave a relieved sigh. "Okay, sounds like a plan. But when he reach the village, we don't move until you get there." They were outside by now, the sun was warm and welcoming in comparison to the dark and chilly caverns. About ten feet to their right was a wagon, it looked old but it seemed to be in perfect working order. After unloading his pack into the wagon, and putting Victoria on his shoulders, he nodded toward the Training Room. "A little advice, before we go. I suggest you sleep in the guest room, and, if somebody should find you," Xanatos glanced in Gorin's direction. "Then there is a lever under the bed on the right side. Pull that, and all the little bells and whistles come to life, just stay in the bed, or you'll get trapped too. Push the lever back, and it al turns off again. There's nothing lethal in there, but the sleep darts give you one heck of a headache."

No, I am in league with some rebels against him. He is a king in a country far away from here and a very evil king his is. He captured me because he wanted to send me off to the silver mines and I escaped with some others, so we started a rebel troop and he's been after me ever since. the troop has grown into a army that a friend now leads for me. all this happened around 13 years ago.

OOC: Yeah we are. Ariona is staying behind though because she's not up to the trip quite yet. Mainly because we never posted that we ever got any sleep and you were so eager to get out of the cavern.

Ariona simply shook her head.
"I think I'll be able to take care of myself without your extreme eccentricities, but I appreciate it," she told Xanatos, jostling him gently with her shoulder. "Tria, I'll see you later, alright, my girl?" She stood on the toes of her boots to stretch up to the girl, her hand on Xanatos' shoulder. "And take care of this guy for me," she told her quietly, smiling.
Victoria giggled and nodded.
Ariona stepped back from the group.

Xanatos looked back at Ariona for a good while before walking away. He got the wagon, which was made completely of cedar because it doesn't rot hardly, and put his pack into the wagon. It was a curious thing, small enough to not need a horse but big enough to fit one person with their luggage. He grabbed the handle and pulled it along. After about five minutes they got to the outer gate, where a person could buy a horse for their journey. Xanatos bought one with his last few gold coins and hooked the horse to the wagon.

Ariona watched them until they were out of sight, then turned and re-entered Xanatos' lair. She went into the room he had told her to sleep in, but laid down on the floor instead of the bed. Sometimes she prefered floors to furniture, oddly.

Gorin was telling Xanatos about the castle of night that was made of silver that Verk made. They call Verk the adder because of his venomous deeds and his chief guard firefox.

Xanatos suddenly bolted, but not away from the intruders like Gorin. He leapt into the air and effectively immobilized about five of the men with a fiery burst, leaving only a few men remaining.

Gorin saw solders surrounding them so he used his power to force them away. One of them aimed a crossbow at Marvin after he got over the sudden jolt. Gorin came and struck the solder dead.

Xanatos saw that all the men were knocked out, but when he saw that Gorin killed one of the men, he walked over and pushed him to the ground. "What the camelot do you think you're doing?! You could have just knocked him out! There was no need to kill him!"

Xanatos shook his head and bent over the unconscious men. "Slightly burned but they'll live without much discomfort." He walked over to the wagon and checked to see if Victoria was still there, she had fallen asleep halfway there and sure enough, she still was. "Gorin, let me tell you something, you have a gift. How you use it, is up to you. But you have to gauge yourself. Even I don't kill Pirates unless they attack first. And even then." Xanatos shook his head and sighed. "Come on, get up. We still have a ways to go, and it would be better to go before these guys wake up..."

Marvin had trembled at the thought of finding an arrow in his chest. It wasn't a pretty thought, trust me. But after Gorin saved him, he couldn't be mad at him now. Yes, what Gorin had done probably wasn't best, but he'd saved him. All he could do was be grateful. "Come on, let's go."

Revolt of the Gileadites - Page 39 Empty Re: Revolt of the Gileadites

Post by Hadar Tue Aug 24, 2010 10:04 am

Ariona woke about 45 minutes later, and glanced at her watch.
I should be able to catch them in about half an hour, maybe less. They can't be moving that fast, with all of them and that wagon.
She jumped up from the floor, without touching it with her hands, and stretched her arms backwards over her head. Sliding on the pack she had set on the bed, she slid out the cave entrance and into the woods, where she skimmed along at a brisk run for about 3 minutes, then settled into a quiet, steady, ryhthmic jog. She couldn't help but thinking as she ran: Left, left, left, right, left. Yer left, yer left, yer left, raght, left.

Marvin was worried; what if there were more of those people after them? They had to get moving. And what about Ariona? Where was she rigt now? Was she OK or in danger? The thought made him shudder.

Revolt of the Gileadites - Page 39 Empty Re: Revolt of the Gileadites

Ariona glanced at her watch. It had been about half an hour.
I'll be there soon, she thought. Wherever "there" is... Well, where Xanatos and Victoria are. Oh, not Victoria..."
She stumbled and tripped, falling face down into the dirt with a muffled cry. She pushed herself up and felt the sore spot on her face. Yup, there was blood on her hand. Was that from her face or her hand? Regardless, that was one harsh root. Taking a red cloth from her cargo pocket, she wiped first her hands, then her face. She winced, as it stung, but quickly ignored it. She had to get to the group.
She picked herself up, brushed herself off the best she could, and began running again, faster than before to ignore the pain on her face and palms.
A few short moments later she rounded the corner and found the group waiting for her, impatiently it seemed.
"Hey guys, sorry I'm late!" she said cheerfully, in between breaths.
